Registrants for this course must have completed Vestibular Level ONE or have a solid understanding of the anatomy/physiology of the vestibular system and the assessment & treatment of peripheral vestibular impairments.The objectives of Level Two include:

• Have a solid understanding of the anatomy & physiology of the peripheral and central vestibular system
• Be confident in maneuvers to treat different variants of BPPV
• Be confident in the assessment & treatment of patients with UVL/BVL
• Understand other peripheral & central vestibular impairments and how to assess and treat them
• Know when to send patients for further testing, what tests to ask for and how to interpret results
• Understand how concussion effects the vestibular system
• Know when to refer patients for a binocular vision assessment & how vision therapy

Advanced Training in Vestibular
Rehabilitation

Jenni Veneruz is a Registered Physiotherapist, honours graduate of the University of Toronto. She has been practicing for 25 years and has experience in hospital, private clinic and homecare settings. In 2007 she created InFocus Rehabilitation Centre specifically for the assessment and management of people with vestibular disorders. Since then Jenni has successfully treated over 2500 patients with inner ear impairments and is well respected in the medical community. Jenni has enjoyed the privilege of teaching vestibular courses to physiotherapists, audiologists and physicians in the GTA and beyond. She has been a guest lecturer at U of T and was asked to teach in Qatar as a part of a U of T initiative in 2015. As well as receiving her vestibular certification at Emory University in Atlanta, Jenni has done many advanced courses and updates over the years. She loves teaching practical, hands on courses and sharing her knowledge and passion with other health professionals.[/col][/row]

Doctor of Optometry

Developmental, Behavioural and Rehabilitative Optometrist

Dr. Cookson received her Doctor of Optometry degree, with honours, from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry in 2011. She completed an internship focusing on ocular disease at the Jack C. Montgomery Veterans Affairs Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma, as well as a paediatric/binocular vision internship in Brampton, Ontario. While in optometry school, Dr. Cookson developed a keen interest in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation. Since finishing optometry school she has taken numerous vision therapy courses, totalling well over 150 hours of continuing education, to further her knowledge in this exciting area. She began offering vision therapy to her patients in 2012, and, due to the high demand for these services, decided to expand and open her own Vision Therapy Clinic. The clinic opened on December 1, 2016 and is thriving. Dr. Cookson is very excited and motivated to make sure that all patients reach their vision goals. She continues to take part in continuing education here in Canada and the United States. She is the Ontario Provincial Representative for Canadian Optometrists in Vision Therapy & Rehabilitation and a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, Canadian Association of Optometrists, College of Optometrists in Vision Development, Optometric Extension Program Foundation.[/col][/row]

CASLPO Manager, Centre for Advanced Hearing and Balance Testing

Emma LeBlanc, AuD is the assistant manager at the Centre for Advanced Hearing and Balance Testing and the Munk Hearing Centre at Toronto General Hospital. She received her Doctor of Audiology from Northwestern University in Chicago, IL and holds lecturer status for the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Toronto. She has a diverse array of interests in audiology which include adult and pediatric vestibular assessment and aural rehabilitation. Along with teaching courses to audiologists, otolaryngologists and technicians both in Toronto and abroad, she has also contributed to articles in trade publications, including ENT & Audiology News and the Canadian Audiologist.[/col][/row]
